The Carrier Roller, also known as Top Roller or Upper Roller, is installed above the track frame of the Caterpillar E345 crawler excavator.

For a 45-ton class excavator, the undercarriage system experiences extremely high loads during excavation, travelling and continuous operation. The carrier roller supports the upper track chain, maintains correct chain alignment and reduces friction between moving undercarriage components.

A worn or damaged carrier roller may cause:
