The lip seal (Part No. 801103657, FB type, 60×80×8) is a rotary shaft lip-type oil seal​ manufactured to the Chinese national standard GB/T 9877-2008《液压传动 旋转轴唇形密封圈设计规范》 . As an FB-type (有副唇) internal-bonded-skeleton rotary shaft seal, it is installed at the shaft end of rotating equipment to retain lubricant (oil or grease) on the oil side while the auxiliary dust lip​ blocks external contaminants on the air side — a critical barrier protecting bearings, gears and rotating assemblies from lubrication loss or particulate ingress.

Construction (per GB/T 9877-2008 basic structure, Fig. 1 & 2):

The seal comprises 5 core components​ : assembly support part (internal-bonded skeleton) + skeleton (stamped steel, rubber-bonded) + garter spring (carbon spring steel wire, GB/T 4357) + main lip + auxiliary (dust) lip.

Performance envelope​ (per GB/T 9877-2008 scope & industry standard for FB type) :

• Sealing cavity pressure:​ ≤ 0.05 MPa (FB type general-purpose oil seal)

• Max. circumferential speed:​ ≤ 15 m/s (line speed)

• Operating temperature:​ -40°C to +120°C (NBR standard); up to +200°C (FKM)

• Lubricant compatibility:​ Mineral oils, gear oil, transmission fluid, grease, water-glycol

• Shaft surface hardness requirement:​ ≥ 45 HRC (recommended), Ra 0.2–0.4 μm

• Housing bore finish:​ Ra ≤ 1.6 μm, chamfered edge (2–3 mm, 15°)

Why FB type (vs B type):​ Per GB/T 9877-2008, when a rotary shaft seal operates in environments with significant dust, rainwater or external contaminants, a seal with an auxiliary (dust) lip shall be used​ — the FB type adds exactly this dust lip on top of the standard B-type oil seal . For construction machinery (XCMG loaders, rollers, excavators) operating in dusty quarries, mines and construction sites, FB type is the recommended choice.
